This rich, sweet whole food snack is made with just 5 ingredients and takes only 10 minutes—an easy, healthier take on the viral TikTok date bark!

Ingredients

  • 12 medjool dates pitted; approx. 1⅓ cups packed or 260g total
  • 3 tbsp almond butter approx. 68g
  • 2 tbsp slivered almonds approx. 57g
  • 1 cup dark chocolate melted; approx. 150g
  • tsp sea salt flakes optional; or to taste

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet or flat cutting board with parchment paper.
  • Slice each date lengthwise and open them like a book (butterfly-style).
  • Arrange the dates cut-side down on the parchment paper, overlapping slightly, and press firmly to form a flat rectangle.
  • Spread almond butter evenly over the dates.
  • Sprinkle slivered almonds on top.
  • Pour the melted dark chocolate over the surface and use a spatula to spread it evenly.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt flakes, if using.
  • Freeze for 10–15 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
  • Break or cut into bite-sized pieces.

Storage:

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week, or in the freezer for up to 2 months. Let thaw for 5 minutes before eating if frozen.
