Equipment

  • Air fryer

Ingredients

  • 14 oz extra firm tofu approx. 400g; 1 standard block
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce approx. 30ml
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil approx. 5ml
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch approx. 8g
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp salt approx. 3g
  • ¼ tsp black pepper freshly cracked

Instructions

  • Wrap tofu in a clean tea towel or paper towels. Place a heavy object (such as a cast-iron skillet or plate) on top and press for 10 minutes to remove moisture.
  • Cut tofu into bite-size cubes. Place cubes in a medium bowl, add soy sauce and vegetable oil, and gently toss to coat. Allow to marinate for about 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle cornstarch, smoked paprika, garlic powder, thyme, salt, and pepper onto the tofu cubes. Toss gently until evenly coated.
  • Arrange tofu cubes in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, leaving space between pieces for maximum crispiness. Cook at 390°F for 10 minutes total, shaking the basket after 5 minutes.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce or condiment. Sriracha mayo recommended!
